As your Credit Union, Midwest Members Credit Union continues to monitor the coronavirus pandemic closely and understands the impact the virus has on the current economy and our members monthly financial budget. We want you to understand that your deposits with the credit union are safe and insured. MMCU is committed to our people helping people philosophy and will continue to stand by our members through these unforeseen times.
Access to Your Money
The safest and easiest way to conduct transactions and access your funds 24/7 is through our online banking services. If you don’t currently have access to our online services via mobile phone or home banking, now is a good time to initiate these services via the Midwest Members Credit Union website at www.midmembers.org or call 618-254-0605 to speak with one of our Financial Service Officers.
At Midwest Members Credit Union, the health and well-being of our members, colleagues and communities are top priority. Given the evolving concerns around COVID-19, MMCU will be available by appointment only at both our Wood River and Maryville locations.
These changes will go in to effect Thursday, November 5th, 2020 and will be in effect until further notice.
We encourage you to take advantage of our area ATM's, Online Banking, Mobile Banking products as well as 30,000 surcharge free CO-OP ATM's nationwide.
Our Drive-Thru and Call Center will continue to be open during normal business hours and branch activities will be available by appointment only. To make an appointment or need assistance from our Support staff, please call 618-254-0605.
MMCU asks that you continue to follow social distancing guidelines and per Governors orders, wear a mask while in our branches to protect yourself and others around you. If you’ve been financially impacted by this pandemic, our staff is prepared to discuss your options and help guide you through these uncertain times. We have the following new offerings to share with you:
- Extension of first payment due date - is available on all new auto loans and personal loans for 90 days from the date of the advance. (First payment due dates on mortgages, home equity loans, and home equity lines of credit will remain 30 days from the date of the advance.) Interest continues to accrue during the extended payment period.
- Special Hardship extension - is available on existing eligible loans. Eligible loans that qualify for the extension are: auto loans, recreational loans, Signature lines of credit, signature loans, Home Equity loans and Mortgages. Protect Yourself From Cyber Scams
Scammers are taking advantage of fears surrounding the Coronavirus. They’re setting up websites to sell bogus products, and using fake emails, texts, and social media posts as a ruse to take your money and get your personal information. It is important to note that if we reach out to you, we will NEVER ask for confidential information such as your account number, password, personal identification number (PIN) or other account information. You can review the Federal Trade Commission’s advice for consumers at www.consumer.ftc.gov.
